The Reveal: Our Office & Terrace for the Living by Design Showhouse with Luxe Interiors + Design
There are some projects that feel exciting from the beginning, and then there are the ones that stay with you long after the design is complete. Our Office & Terrace for the third annual Living By Design Showhouse with national media partner Luxe Magazine became one of those spaces for us.
What made this project especially exciting was the fact that it was completely virtual. No physical limitations, no construction timelines, no square footage constraints. Just creativity, vision, and endless possibilities. Designing in a virtual showhouse format gave us the freedom to fully explore ideas in a way that feels rare in real life. It became an opportunity to dream bigger, take risks, and push the design further than we normally could.
And honestly, that is what made this so fun. It felt like designing without limits. An unlimited budget, endless inspiration, and the ability to create a world exactly as we imagined it. Every detail could be intentional. Every layer could tell part of the story.
From the beginning, we knew we did not want this to feel like a traditional home office. We wanted it to feel layered, personal, elevated, and lived in. A space that could support productivity without losing warmth or personality. Somewhere you could take a meeting, unwind by the fire, entertain friends over cocktails, or step outside to reset for a moment.
The inspiration behind the design started with a very specific woman in mind. We imagined a glamorous entertainer whose home needs to move with the same energy she does. Think Kelly Rowland. Confident, stylish, grounded, and effortless all at once. That perspective helped guide every decision we made throughout the space.
The office was designed to feel focused without becoming cold or overly formal. Rich textures, layered materials, sculptural lighting, and bold yet balanced details all came together to create an environment that feels both inspiring and comfortable. The terrace became an extension of that feeling. It softens the space and creates a natural place to pause, recharge, and gather.
One of the most important goals for us was balance. We wanted moments that felt bold, but never overwhelming. We wanted warmth without heaviness. Luxury without feeling untouchable. Every material, finish, and furnishing was selected intentionally so the entire space could feel cohesive and grounded.
This project also reflects the way we approach design as a whole at Gray Space Interiors. We do not just design around how a space should look. We design around how someone wants to live in it. The most meaningful interiors tell a story about the people who use them every day.
We are incredibly honored to be part of this year’s Living by Design Showhouse alongside such talented designers and industry partners, and grateful to @luxemagazine for helping bring this experience to life.
